Ms. McCorrister holds a Bachelor of Arts and is a certified Montessori teacher with the American Montessori Society and has also completed studies in Waldorf pedagogy. She has over fifteen years of experience working in the Early Childhood teaching field, 13 years of which have been in the capacity of Montessori Directress. She has recently returned from the United States where she spent 5 years as a Master Teacher in two of North America’s oldest Montessori Schools -Cambridge, MA and Greenwich, CT. She has developed and directed Montessori-based Summer Programs for schools in MA and Hawaii. She helped establish a new Montessori in the Westboro area of Ottawa, Ontario in 2007.

Along with her many years of teaching experience she is also a Montessori teacher- trainer with the New England Montessori Teacher Education Center and has attended and lectured at American Montessori National Conferences. In addition, Ms. McCorrister has developed and presented numerous parent and teacher workshops on Montessori pedagogy and curriculum areas.

Her interests include participating in the Montessori Peace Education Curriculum by working with a Boston based organization, Partners In Health, doing fund raising for a health clinic in Cange, Haiti and promoting awareness education for global projects in the Montessori classroom. Ms. McCorrister belongs to the AMS Teacher’s Association, NAMTA, N.A. Reiki Assoc. and has been sponsored as a foreign teacher through the Cordell-Hull foundation of New York, U.S.A.

Ms McCorrister offers expertise in Montessori and Early Childhood Education. Working both with educators, colleges, parents and the community, she strives to integrate awareness of the importance of providing a safe, educational and nurturing environment for our children of tomorrow.

Ms McCorrister resides in Ottawa, Ontario with her fiance Peter, her daughter Siobhan, their four cats Merou, Mau, Kitty, and Preston and dog Raiku.
